Jo Ann Salmon

Jo Ann Salmon, 62, of Grapeland, Texas, died unexpectedly in Crockett, Texas on October 10, 2024.

Jo Ann is survived by her Aunts; Betty Alfred Rowland, and Bonnie Alfred Duval, her favorite cousin and fishing buddy, Roy Anslem and wife Pebbles Bird, of Grapeland, daughter, Raven Simmons of Fisherville; and son Roy Anslem, Jr. of Grapeland; her five cats whom she loved dearly, and numerous cousins, and friends.

Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents; Mamie Salmon and Joe Salmon. Brothers; Michael Wayne Sandling, and Kenneth Glenn Collins. Sister; Darlene Bedair Aunts; Mae Huntsman, Ruby Alfred, Mary Alfred Oliver, Helen Alfred Alldredge, Nellie Alfred Myers, Joyce Alfred Turner, Shirley Alfred Anslem, and Dorothy Salmon. Uncles; Bert Alfred and Jessie Alfred.

Jo Ann was born on February 26, 1962, in Houston, Texas to Mamie and Joe Salmon. She graduated from Palacious High School.

After moving to Grapeland, she began working for Vulcraft for many years and then later started a career with Best Friends Community Services.

Jo Ann loved to fish, garden, and be with her cats. Jo Ann was generous and showed up for any of our family when needed. She was loved deeply by all of us and is already severely missed.
