On March 4, 1940 in Crockett Texas Harold Daniels, Jr. was born to Harold and Jennie B Daniels. He was the fifth of seven children. Harold accepted Christ at an early age and attended Pine Gove Missionary Baptist Church. He sang in the choir and was a Deacon of the church.
Harold graduated from Ralph Bunche High School. When he moved to Fort Worth in his early years, he drove trucks for Coors. When he came back to Crockett, he worked at Dolly Madison Inc., and later begin his career with the State School Texas Youth Commission. He was a supervisor with the State School and was dearly loved by all including the youth that were housed there. He retired from the State School after 20 years and had never missed a day. He was affectionately known as “Poppa Daniels” and “Pops”.
On June 26, 2021 in Crockett Texas he departed this life to be with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold Daniels & Jennie B Burleson; his loving wife Sharon Daniels; his son Earlester Simon and daughter Lisa Walker. His siblings Purcell Daniels, Lizzie Mae Spearman, TJ Randolph Jr., Lorraine Walker, Mabelene Daniels, and Ella Mae Thomas. His stepson Broderick Hatter, one grandson and 2 great granddaughters.
He leaves to cherish his many memories: His daughters – Pamela (Roger) Provost of Houston, Andrea (Terrance) Coleman of Houston, and son Harold (Reca) Wright of Denton. Also raised as a daughter Terri Ann Rambo of Houston. Goddaughter Cynthia McCullough of Alto. Grandchildren – Tramaine, DeOndre’, Keeondrea, Roger Jr., Kaelyn, Earl Jr., DeUndre, Dino Jr., Andre, Tiffany, Trey, Da’mon, Si’Anna, Harold De’Won, Trent, Broderick. A host of great grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Harold loved his family dearly and had a special bond with them all. He loved fishing, trail riding, doing his annual Juneteenth party for all to come and enjoy at no cost to the public, Dallas Cowboys, playing spades and just being together with family and friends having a good time. He loved singing/humming a tune until the near end. He kept you laughing with the quickness of his smart mouth. In his 81 years of life, he touched many hearts and made many friends.
