On March 6, 1940, a baby girl was born to the late Artie Lee Johnson and Minnie Routine Johnson, who they named Bobbie Zell.
Bobbie grew up in the Wheeler Springs community and church. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Wheeler Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended and loved Williams Chapel Church of the Living God.
She attended Wheeler Springs Elementary School, graduated from Ralph Bunche High School, and attended Mary Allen College.
She married Joseph Ester Lee Benton on February 13, 1960; to this union, three children were born, Siegfried, Joycelyn, and Jacqueline.
Before Bobbies health started failing she loved fishing, baseball (Texas Rangers), crocheting, solving Word Seek Puzzles and worked as a seamstress.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, Artie Lee Johnson, Minnie and R. L. Warfield; and four siblings, Willie Lewis Warfield, Raye Katherine Edgley, Geneva Lipscomb, and James Arthur Warfield.
She leaves to cherish her memories son, Rev. Siegfried Benton of Temple Hills, MD, two daughters Joycelyn Alexander of Crockett, Texas, and Jacqueline Benton-Davis (Rickey) of Huntsville, Texas, four siblings; Charlie “Frank” Warfield (Mary) of Tyler, Texas, Bettye Glenn (Ricky) Houston, Texas, Wanda Johnson of Dallas Texas and Donald Perkins (Maydine) Lufkin, Texas; eight Grandchildren, seventeen Great-Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who will miss her dearly.
